Chefchaouen, a town in northwestern Morocco is known as the “Blue City,” lies just inland from the Mediterranean sea and Tangiers. Set against the backdrop of the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen was founded in 1471 as a fortress. Travelers to Cheafchaouen come from far and wide to behold this beautiful blue washed mountain village, shop for its one of a kind artisanal goods such as woven wool clothing and blankets, and sample its famously delicious goat cheese. Here are 27 photos of this wonderful Moroccan city.
