Nestled in the mountains of Virginia, The Omni Homestead has been welcoming guests to its elegant resort since the 18th century. Known for its Southern hospitality and refined charm, the resort has been welcoming generations of guests for more than two centuries.

This year, The Omni Homestead is marking its 250th anniversary. The resort is commemorating this momentous milestone with 366 days of anniversary celebrations, which include afternoon anniversary parties starting at 2:50 pm with a different flavored cake each day, fireside chats each Saturday, historic menu items in the Main Dining Room, special concerts, fireworks displays and much more.

“Each month has a theme, starting with the resort’s associates in January. Since Nov. 21, 1766, we have been here to welcome and serve our guests, and we felt it very fitting to honor all of our associates, past and present, as we begin this monumental year,” said Lynn Swann, director of marketing for The Omni Homestead. “We have so many activities and events planned, we couldn’t fit them all into just one weekend, or even one month, so we’re going to celebrate every day. Many of our guests have joined in the celebration by sharing stories and photos of their past visits.”

The 2300-acre estate is a magnificent setting for a multitude of activities throughout the year. The resort’s two golf courses are highly regarded and offer challenges for golfers of all abilities. The historic Old Course boasts the oldest first tee in continuous use in the country while the Cascades is annually named as the top course in Virginia.

Located a few miles from the resort, the Jefferson Pools offer a historical and authentic spa experience. The Gentlemen’s Bath House is considered the oldest spa structure in America. These naturally heated waters maintain a constant temperature of around 98 degrees.

In addition to golf and spa facilities, the resort boasts more than 30 other recreational activities. During the summer months, guests enjoy tennis, falconry, fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing, trap, skeet, sporting clays, horseback riding, carriage rides, archery, miniature golf, hayrides and the popular Cascades Gorge Hike.

The Allegheny Springs complex offers two 100-foot water slides, a 400-foot lazy river, family pool, whirlpool and water play zone. In winter, the Mountain Lodge is the home to the resort’s skiing, snowboarding and tubing area while the water play zone is transformed into an ice skating rink.
