Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an herb that has been trending in the world of wellness. But its benefits have been well-known since ancient times.

Native to Southern Asia, the Middle East and parts of Africa, Ashwagandha has been an especially important herb in Ayurveda, the Indian system of medicine dating to 6000 B.C. (1)

Traditionally it has been used for a long list of conditions including an anti-inflammatory, nerve and liver tonic, a pain-reliever and to promote longevity and vitality (2).

Also known as Indian ginseng, today ashwagandha is known mostly for its incredible  adaptogenic stress-relieving effects. These plants have compounds that work on our immune, endocrine and nerve systems to help balance the body’s response to physical and emotional stress (3).

Why I Tried Stressveda

A box of Stressveda on a table with capsules around.

As someone who struggles with stress and anxiety, I decided to give Stressveda from Flora a try. This KSM-66 ashwagandha supplement also includes stress supporting nutrients.

Flora has been a trusted health and wellness brand that has sold herbal formulas for decades. Known for their commitment to delivering clean, sustainable, and transparent labeling I felt comfortable giving their Stressveda ashwagandha supplement a try.

What makes Stressveda’s formula unique is that it has:

  • Ashwagandha KSM-66
  • Stress supporting plant-sourced vitamins
  • An organic fruit and vegetable blend

This combination is designed to be a potent stress-relief supplement with functional nutritional support.

But does it work? Let’s dig in a little more with my Stressveda review.

Key Features of Stressveda

I’ve been using Flora Health’s Stressveda  for a few weeks now, and I’m happy to share my experience with you.

First: Here are some of the key features that make Stressveda stand out:

Stressveda Has Adaptogen Benefits

Adaptogens like ashwagandha work with the body’s fight or flight response so it’s able to resist stress, anxiety, and fatigue.

Depending on what your body needs at the time, adaptogens will either ramp up or scale back the production of stress hormones like cortisol to bring the body into a calm state called homeostasis (4).

In simpler terms, ashwagandha can help you feel cool and collected during times when you’d normally be pulling out a bottle of aspirin, need a pot of coffee or stress-eating a gallon of ice-cream.

Ashwagandha’s ability to support healthy cortisol levels (our stress hormone) and relieve stress has been well documented. Research suggests ashwagandha may also help reduce inflammation, improve sleep quality and thyroid function, while boosting mood and brain function (5).

Known for its positive effects on the endocrine, nervous, immune, and cardiovascular systems, ashwagandha helps regulate metabolism and promotes relaxation by calming the brain’s stress response (6).

Whenever I take Stressveda I notice I constantly have more energy and focus throughout the day, even when I’m dealing with a lot of work or personal stressors.

Stressveda Has the KSM-66 form of Ashwagandha

Stressveda is formulated with a patented extract from only the root of the ashwagandha plant called KSM-66 Ashwagandha.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha is the most clinically studied ashwagandha on the market. This means any of its claimed benefits have evidence supported by studies

Stressveda is Vitamin Rich

Stressveda is also blended with stress supporting nutrients to help you recover from stressful situations more quickly. They include:

  • Vitamin C : Vitamin C has been found to lower levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, during stressful situations. It may also improve mood and reduce anxiety levels. Antioxidants like vitamin C can help protect the body from free radicals, which can cause cell damage and contribute to chronic diseases (7).
  • Vitamin D : Vitamin D has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which studies show may defend against stress and defend against anxiety and depression (8, 9).
  • Vitamin E: :  Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect your cells from oxidative damage, often increased during times of stress. It can also support your immune system, which can be weakened by stress (10).
  • Vitamin K (as phylloquinone [K1] : Some studies suggest that Vitamin K2 could protect against oxidative stress and inflammation, which can be elevated by stress (11).
  • Thiamin : Plays a significant role in nerve function to help the mind to relax, reduce anxiety levels and promotes a good night’s sleep (12).

Like most B vitamins it’s also linked to a healthy immune system, which makes the body better equipped to handle stress-induced inflammation (13).

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) : It’s crucial for energy production, immune function and can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation of nerves which can help be affected during times of stress (14).

Studies suggest that Riboflavin can also help prevent migraines which are often triggered by stress (15).

  • Niacin: Also known as Vitamin B3, it’s been suggested that niacin can improve brain function, including mental agility and memory (16). It’s also essential for the production of energy, stress and sex hormones.

It may also help reduce symptoms of anxiety depression by increasing the availability of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood (17).

  • Vitamin B6 : Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is essential for brain health and can boost mood.. Studies suggest that vitamin B6 supplementation may lead to improved mental wellness and help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and better stress management (18).
  • Folate :  Folate, a B vitamin, may boost mood and help reduce symptoms of depression which can be exacerbated during times of stress (19).
  • Biotin : Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, is involved in maintaining optimal adrenal and thyroid activity which can help stabilize mood, regulate sleep, and manage metabolism and energy levels (20).
  • Pantothenic acid :  Also known as vitamin B5, this “anti-stress vitamin” may help prevent adrenal fatigue and can help keep cortisol levels stable (21).

All of these vitamins are derived from organic fruits and vegetables, which means they’re more bioavailable and easier for the body to absorb.

It’s Organic and NMO-GMO Sourced

I love that Stressveda’s ingredients are from organic and non-GMO sources. Our bodies are already taxed with toxins in our food and water everyday. We certainly don’t want it in our supplements.

And I feel good that Stressveda’s ingredients are clean and pure.

As someone who cares about sustainability and the environment, I also appreciate that Flora prioritizes these values.

Stressveda Fits into Most Diets and Lifestyles

Stressveda is gluten-free and vegan, which makes it a great option for people with dietary restrictions.

The capsules are also easy to swallow and have no smell or aftertaste.

Stressveda Pros and Cons

A box of Stressveda on a desk with a notepad, laptop, apple, and packaging.

After using Flora Stressveda for a while, I have compiled a list of pros and cons to help you decide if this product is right for you.

Pros

  • Improved sleep: Since I started taking this supplement, I have noticed a significant improvement in my sleep quality. I fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, which has helped me feel more rested and energized during the day.
  • Stress Relief: The KSM-66 Ashwagandha in this product has been clinically studied and shown to help increase energy and resistance to stress. I have definitely noticed a reduction in my overall stress levels since I started taking this supplement.
  • Good Source of Vitamins: Flora Stressveda includes vitamins derived from a proprietary blend of organic fruits and vegetables, providing a good source of vitamin D and antioxidants vitamins C and E. It also has a blend of B vitamins
  • It’s Gluten-free, Vegan, and Non-GMO: As someone with dietary restrictions, I appreciate that this supplement is gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO.

Cons

  • It Has Limited Reviews: While the reviews for this product are positive, there are only a few available. This may make it difficult for some consumers to fully evaluate the effectiveness of the product before purchasing.
  • The Dose of Ashwaghanda May Not Be Right For Some: Stressveda has a dosage of 600 mg of ashwagandha per serving. But I find that when I’m taking it for stress support during the day I do better with half a capsule twice a day instead. The full capsule makes me slightly drowsy which is great for when I’m taking it later in the day to help me wind down and help with sleep. You may need to experiment a little to find your sweet spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

As someone who has tried Flora Stressveda with KSM-66 Ashwagandha, I know that you might have some questions about this product.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about Stressveda:

What benefits can I expect from taking Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha?

With 24 published clinical trials, 37 completed studies and 18 ongoing studies KSM-66 is the most clinically studied ashwagandha root extract.

Some proven benefits you may experience from KSM-66 that are backed by studies include (22, 23):

  • More energy and less fatigue
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Better sleep quality
  • Improved focus and concentration
  • Improved thyroid function
  • Less pain and inflammation

How does Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha help with anxiety?

Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, which means it helps the body adapt to stress.

It works by reducing cortisol levels, which is a hormone that is released when the body is under stress.

It has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms in people with anxiety disorders.

Can Stressveda help with weight loss?

While KSM-66 Ashwagandha is not specifically designed for weight loss, it has been shown to help reduce stress-related weight gain (24).

Stress can cause the body to produce the hormone cortisol, which can lead to weight gain. By increasing the body’s resistance to stress and reducing cortisol levels, Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha may help prevent stress-related weight gain and support healthy weight.

Are there any side effects associated with taking Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha?

Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha is generally considered safe for most people when taken as directed.

Some rare side effects of ashwagandha can include upset stomach, diarrhea, and vomiting.

It is important to talk to your doctor before taking ashwagandha as it can interfere with certain medications.

Ashwagandha also isn’t recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a thyroid condition or are immunocompromised.

How does Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha compare to other brands like Simple Truth or Vthrive?

While I have not personally tried Simple Truth or Vthrive, I can say that Stressveda’s KSM-66 ashwagandha extract is the most clinically studied ashwagandha extract on the market.

Simple Truth uses a different patented form of ashwagandha called Sensoril.

Here’s the difference:

  • Sensoril contains extracts from both the leaves and roots of the herb.
  • KSM-66 is a full-spectrum extract that only contains root extracts.

Why does that matter?

The ashwagandha plant contains compounds called Withaferin A which are toxic to our cells and are found mostly in the leaves. Sensoril is standardized to filter out most of these compounds to safe concentrations of 0.5% or less. KSM-66 is a root only extract, making it virtually non-toxic.

As for benefits, Sensoril is associated with being better for calm and sleep.

More uplifting, KSM-66 is generally considered best for daytime use, calm energy, endurance, muscle recovery, memory, focus and cognitive function. But positive effects on sleep have been observed in studies KSM-66 too. And I find I sleep better on it too.

Which form of ashwagandha you find most effective will come down to your body chemistry.

Like Stressveda, VThrive contains KSM-66 ashwagandha. But it only has 300 mg of KSM-66 ashwagandha without any supporting B-vitamins like Stressveda.

What’s the recommended dosage for Stressveda KSM-66 Ashwagandha to see results?

The recommended dosage for Stressveda is one capsule per day. Each capsule has 600 mg of KSM-66 Ashwagandha

While it’s important to take this supplement as directed to start you may find you need less to fit your needs.

Dosages across studies analyzing the effectiveness of ashwagandha supplements with KSM-66 root extract have ranged from 250 to 600 mg/day. I find half a capsule (about 300 mg) twice a day works best for me. Studies have found the most benefits have been observed taking the full 600 mg per day (25).

In the end it’s what works best for your body. As always it’s important to talk to your doctor before taking any new supplements, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Bottom Line

Overall, I highly recommend Stressveda for anyone looking for a natural way to manage stress, anxiety and fatigue while boosting energy levels. With its powerful blend of adaptogens and vitamins, it’s a great addition to any wellness routine.

While this product may not work for everyone, it is generally considered safe and has been shown to be a beneficial way to deal with stress and its related symptoms.

It’s also important to note that to see the most benefits of any ashwagandha supplement, it should be taken for at least 6 to 8 weeks to get the full stress relieving effects.
