Premium Ingredients: The Eat Clean Difference

One of the most impressive aspects of Eat Clean’s service is their commitment to high-quality ingredients. When they say “Premium Ingredients” on their website, they’re actually underselling what arrives at your door.

During our Eat Clean review, we discovered meals featuring organic vegetables, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, pasture-raised pork, and olive oil instead of seed oils. The quality came through in both the taste and texture. These felt more like restaurant dishes than typical prepared meals.

The portion sizes were particularly generous with proteins, which is impressive considering the moderate calorie counts. After eating Eat Clean meals regularly for two weeks, I found myself consistently satisfied without feeling heavy, sluggish, or hungry afterward. The focus on high-quality ingredients makes Eat Clean an excellent choice for those interested in improving their gut health as well.

If you’re tracking macros and calories, Eat Clean makes it so easy. Nutritional info is listed clearly on both the website and the packaging. Most meals are high in protein, lower in fat and sodium, and great for anyone trying to build muscle or lose fat.

We love spicy food and especially appreciated the flavor profiles across their Indian, Mexican, Asian, and Caribbean selections. They delivered authentic taste without overwhelming heat levels. While I personally added a splash of hot sauce here and there, the focus is clearly on developing complex flavors that everyone can enjoy.

Their Keto options are particularly impressive for those following a ketogenic diet plan, similar to what we discussed in our Perfect Keto review. Here’s our breakdown of standout meals across their menu options.

Traditional Eat Clean Meals We Loved

Chicken Tikka Masala with Organic White Rice

A white plate with bright orange-red chicken tikka masala curry on the right side and white basmati rice on the left. The dish is garnished with fresh herbs and photographed from above with a fork and yellow napkin visible, along with a glass of what appears to be iced tea.

If you love Indian food, this dish is a must-order. Juicy, sliced, cage-free chicken breast is served in a curry sauce made with tomatoes, garlic, onions, cilantro, and masala spices. Rich and a little spicy, this is served over nutty basmati rice. Super flavorful, with authentic Indian flavors, we’re ordering more of these and skipping our local Indian takeout.

Ingredients: Cage-free chicken, organic jasmine rice, homemade masala sauce (tomatoes, garlic, curry, masala, onion), olive oil, cilantro, kosher salt, black pepper

Barbacoa Bowl with White Rice and Black Beans

Made with a hearty portion of flavorful grass-fed beef, I could eat this 2-3 times per week and be very happy. The flavors were delicious and perfectly spiced with cooked tomatoes, red peppers, garlic, and onion. Served over sweet and nutty jasmine rice with black beans, this dish also came with a creamy garlic sauce that took the flavors to another level. It comes with a dish of corn cooked with green peppers, which you could add over the top if you like. If you love Latin or Caribbean flavors, this one is a must. We added a dash of hot sauce, and it was totally delicious!

With a huge portion, this one will keep you full! Slightly smoky and sweet, a huge chicken breast is dipped in BBQ sauce and covered in crispy bread crumbs. It’s a nice twist on traditional crispy-style chicken. The creamy mac and cheese, with cheddar jack and perfectly cooked pasta was tasty too. We recommend heating the veggies separately, since the zucchini releases a lot of water. You can microwave the chicken, but consider putting it in the oven if you want to crisp up the crust.

Nutrition: Cal: 657 • Protein: 75g • Fat: 12g • Carbs: 59g • Sodium: 271mg • Fiber: 11g
Ingredients: Free range chicken breast, wheat pasta, cheddar jack cheese, homemade BBQ sauce (tomatoes, brown sugar, garlic, mustard seeds, vinegar), whole grain flour, zucchini, tomatoes, buttermilk, black pepper, garlic powder, rosemary

Made with pasture-raised pork, the delicious sweet Italian-style sausage with a hint of fennel seed was tossed with plain and spinach tortellini in a smooth and creamy roasted red pepper sauce. It was tasty and satisfying. And I was shocked to learn afterward that the tortellini, which had a creamy interior, was made with whole wheat pasta. I would never have guessed. This one was served with a broccoli and grape tomato medley on the side. A great balanced dish when you want a little of everything and some veggies too.

The Surf & Turf was super delicious and generously portioned and I’m seriously ordering 20 to have on hand.

The Florida shrimp was fresh and flavorful and perfectly seasoned with grass-fed butter and a hint of herbs like thyme and parsley.

The steak was tender and cooked just over medium, and the organic Yukon mashed potatoes whipped with heavy cream were fluffy and buttery. At less than $10 delivered, this dish is a total steal. Considering how much I’ll save by not going out to a steakhouse, ordering multiples of this dish just makes sense.

This dish is pure protein and potatoes, so you may want a side salad to get some greens in.

Verdict: Loved it.

This dish is bursting with so much flavor, you would never guess it’s clean eating. Sliced juicy chicken breast is topped with delicious bacon and ranch ingredients like garlic, onions and parsley. The creamy fontina cauliflower mash with chives served on the side was so good you would never suspect they were low carb. Or cauliflower. The green beans served on the side add a nice green addition to round out this dish and are simply steamed.

I would never think of making chili with just ground pork (Eat Clean uses pasture-raised), but this was incredibly tasty. Lean and mildly spiced with bits of tender parsnip and carrot, this chili and served with sweet potato tots on the side that are now my new favorite. Blindfolded, I would never have guessed this chili was made of pork. We recommend forgoing the microwave and popping the tots in the toaster oven for 5 minutes to crisp them up. You’ll thank us later.

If you love BBQ but want a cleaner version, this one is sweet and tangy, super tender, and made with organic pork shoulder. Again, a huge portion of protein and the sweet mashed plantains on the side made a nice healthy change from typical BBQ sides and complemented the pork perfectly. A zucchini-carrot medley served on the side will get you your daily veggies. If you’re not into sweeter flavors, skip this dish.

Ingredients: Organic pork shoulder, plantains, homemade BBQ sauce, zucchini, carrots, kosher salt, garlic powder, rosemary, paprika

If you love Cuban food and Caribbean flavors, you’ll want this dish again and again. And ready to go from your freezer is even better.

We truly enjoyed the generous portion of shredded grass fed beef stewed with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and spices. It was so tender and the flavors of the green and red peppers came through without being overpowering. This one is served with sweet plantains on the side instead of cauliflower florets like on Eat Clean’s Havana Ropa Vieja dish. Enjoy this one with a couple of eggs over easy and you could easily get two meals out of this. It makes a great twist on breakfast.

GLP-1 Friendly Eat Clean Options

Parmesan Beef Meatballs With Spaghetti Squash

When I’m cutting carbs and staying away from pasta, spaghetti and meatballs are usually off the table. But Eat Clean’s Parmesan beef meatballs served over spaghetti squash in place of pasta convinced me to eat more veggie-based noodles. Not only were the meatballs big, beefy and fresh tasting, but the tomato sauce was tangy, not too sweet and perfectly balanced. And the spaghetti squash was as close as you’ll get to angel hair pasta in veggie form. Very delicious and would definitely order up more of these.

Nutrition: Cal: 274 • Protein: 43g • Fat: 7g • Carbs: 7g • Sodium: 297mg • Fiber: 0g

Defined as “old clothes” in Spanish, Ropa Vieja is a shredded beef dish that made for a super healthy but satisfying dinner with Cuban-inspired flavors and is perfect when you want something rich but also healthy. The Havana Ropa Vieja is made with tender chunks of spiced and shredded grass-fed beef stewed with onions and peppers and I would order it again in a heartbeat. This dish is pictured on the website as having cauliflower rice, but it’s served with roasted cauliflower florets. We found they were slightly over-spiced but still tasty. The meat was the star of the show here.

Nutrition: Cal: 350 • Protein: 53g • Fat: 11g • Carbs: 8g • Sodium: 132mg • Fiber: 4g

Vegan Chicken Nuggets with Mac & Cheese

Meal Category: Plant-Based
Rating: 4.5

Eat Clean’s Vegan Chicken Nuggets with Mac & Cheese is a clean, convenient alternative to hitting the drive-through. The nuggets are made from Chik’n, a plant-based meat alternative that delivers a surprisingly chicken-like texture and flavor. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or just trying to eat more plant-based meals, this one’s a win.

The mac and cheese is made with vegan cheese and whole wheat pasta. It isn’t overly cheesy, but it’s creamy, tasty, and you’d never guess it uses whole wheat.

💡 Pro tip: For the best texture, pop the nuggets in the air fryer or oven to get them nice and crispy. The result? A golden, crunchy exterior with a tender center that hits the spot.

This meal also comes with a side of zucchini and tomato medley, adding a fresh, colorful touch to the plate.

Overall, we really liked Eat Clean’s plant-based nuggets. It’s a comforting, satisfying option with clean ingredients and no cooking required.

Nutrition: Cal: 343 • Protein: 15g • Fat: 18g • Carbs: 35g • Sodium: 127mg • Fiber: 9g
Ingredients: Chick’n (plant-based), whole wheat pasta, vegan cheese, zucchini

I love donuts, and if it’s clean, I’m in. Soft and moist, with a hint of molasses-y sweetness and an outer coating of cinnamon sugar, it made for a nice crunchy bite on the outside and dense cakey texture on the inside. Made with a blend of almond, oat, and rice flour, it’s ideal if you want a clean treat without the wheat. You can’t go wrong with a donut.

If you love chocolate, Eat Clean’s Vegan Chocolate Lava Cake is available as an ADD-ON to your meal order.

Taking a bite after warming it in the microwave, we found it was fudgy, moist, really chocolaty and delicious. It will definitely satisfy any chocolate craving and you won’t miss the butter and the eggs. The only disappointment was that it wasn’t a 100% true lava cake, with that gooey river of chocolate spilling out when you break into it with your fork. Also, ours was miss-labeled on the package as a Choco Chunk Cookie, so we weren’t sure if the ingredient list was correct.

Either way, we wouldn’t mind having a few in the freezer for when a chocolate craving hits. Taste and texture was excellent, but a few points off for no “lava” and a mislabeled package.

How to Heat Eat Clean Meals: Tips for Best Results

One of the strongest advantages of Eat Clean meal delivery is the simple preparation. We’ve tested various methods so you don’t have to experiment.

Microwave Method (Recommended for most meals) The nutrition facts label on each meal includes heating instructions, but typically you’ll need about 2-3 minutes in the microwave depending on your model’s power. If you’re unsure, start at 2 minutes and continue heating in 30-second increments until the meal reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Oven Method (Best for meals where texture matters) For meals where crispness or restaurant-quality texture is important:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F
  2. Transfer your meal to an oven-safe dish and cover with foil
  3. Heat for 25-35 minutes (until internal temperature reaches 165°F)
  4. Remove foil and let cool for 3-5 minutes
  5. Transfer to a plate and enjoy!

In our testing, nuggets, breaded items, and meals with cheese toppings benefited most from oven heating, while stews, curries, and bowl-style meals were excellent straight from the microwave.

Additional Reheating Tips

When reheating the meals with veggies, we found heating the veggies in a separate dish from the protein was the way to go. Broccoli and cauliflower weren’t an issue, but veggies like spaghetti squash and zucchini released a lot of water when reheated. Reheating them separately was key.

For crispy items like the chicken nuggets or breaded chicken, consider using an air fryer or toaster oven for the best texture. The sweet potato tots from the Ground Pork Chili meal were significantly better when crisped up in the toaster oven for about 5 minutes rather than microwaved.

Dishes are packed in plastic. Simply remove to heat up for best results.

Eat Clean Nutritional Information & Transparency: What You Need to Know

A standout aspect of our Eat Clean review experience was their commitment to transparency. Each meal package displays comprehensive nutritional information on the outside, making it easy to track what you’re eating. The meals are made with all-natural ingredients, and when browsing their online menu, you can click on any entrĂ©e to view a full description, complete ingredient list, and detailed nutrition facts.

Every meal shows the macros (protein, carbs, and fats) and ingredients both on the website before selection and on the physical labels on the side of the meal tray. The macro counts display the total carb amount (not net), and most meals have minimal sodium (300-500mg), which is remarkable for prepared food.

This level of nutritional transparency makes it ideal for those dealing with weight loss plateaus who need precise macro information. Whether tracking what you eat, following a specialized diet, or managing food sensitivities, Eat Clean provides all the necessary information for informed choices.

Eat Clean Meal Plans & Pricing: Is It Worth the Cost?

Eat Clean offers a flexible approach to ordering with plans ranging from 6 to 20 meals per week. The pricing structure follows a simple principle: the more meals you order, the lower the per-meal cost.

  • 6 meals: $12.58 per meal
  • 8 meals: $12.25 per meal
  • 10 meals: $10.90 per meal
  • 12 meals: $10.33 per meal
  • 14 meals: $9.60 per meal
  • 20 meals: $8.60 per meal

Our shipping cost was $15.99, though this may vary based on delivery location and distance from their Florida kitchen. Given this shipping cost, maximizing your meal count provides even better value. All plans allow flexibility and you can pause, cancel, or modify your subscription anytime.

We selected the 20-meal plan at $8.60 per meal for its outstanding value, and with our focus on higher protein, moderate carb nutrition, we wanted various options throughout the week.

At less than $10 per meal shipped, the 20 pack is the way to go.

Is Eat Clean Meal Delivery Worth It?

Eat Clean delivers exactly what it promises: convenient, nutritious meals that taste freshly prepared without the work.

Their wide range of dietary options makes healthy eating simple, no matter your nutritional goals. At a price comparable to casual dining but with much better nutrition, Eat Clean is a great value for busy people who care about what they eat.

During my Eat Clean review, I was genuinely impressed by the ingredient quality, portion sizes, and bold flavors. What surprised me most was the protein quality, including excellent sources of lean protein like their cage-free chicken and grass-fed beef.  The chicken stayed moist, beef was tender, and fish kept its flaky texture. For someone like me who aims for high-protein, moderate-carb meals without the prep, it was a game-changer.

The 20-meal plan at only $8.60 per meal turned out to be an incredible deal when you factor in groceries, time saved, and less food waste. Plus, Eat Clean uses grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, and cage-free chicken, which matters if you care about clean eating. Their meals are particularly beneficial for those focused on gut health thanks to the clean ingredients and absence of artificial preservatives.

After completing my Eat Clean review, I can confidently say these are the best prepared meals we’ve tried. Eat Clean stands out for its quality, flavor, and real value.

Would I order again? Absolutely.

Eat Clean is a premium meal delivery service that ships fresh, chef-prepared meals directly to your door. All meals are fully cooked using natural and organic ingredients, requiring only reheating before serving. The service eliminates the need for meal planning, grocery shopping, and kitchen cleanup.

Where does Eat Clean deliver?

Eat Clean delivers to all 48 states in the continental United States, with meals shipped overnight on ice packs to ensure freshness.

How much does Eat Clean cost?

Pricing ranges from $8.60 to $12.58 per meal depending on quantity ordered. The most economical option is the 20-meal plan at $8.60 per meal, while smaller plans start at $12.58 per meal for 6 meals weekly. Shipping costs approximately $15.99 depending on your location.

What dietary plans does Eat Clean offer?

Eat Clean offers Traditional, Keto, Paleo, Plant-Based, Gluten Free, High Protein, Low Carb, and GLP-1 friendly meal options. Based on our testing during this Eat Clean review, their high-protein meals are particularly impressive with generous portions and quality ingredients.

How do I view the menu and order?

You can view the current week’s menu before signing up by clicking the “on the menu” section of their website. New menus become available every Saturday at 12:01am EST, and the ordering deadline is the following Thursday at 10:59am EST for delivery the following week.

How do the meals arrive?

Meals arrive fresh (never frozen) in individual containers, properly chilled on ice packs. They’re delivered via overnight shipping and should be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. We received our delivery from Florida to Delaware in perfect condition.

How long do the meals stay fresh?

Each meal has an expiration date on the nutrition facts label. While Eat Clean recommends refrigerating all meals, you can freeze them if you won’t consume them by the expiration date.

What nutritional information is provided?

Every meal displays comprehensive nutritional information both on the website before ordering and on the physical meal containers. The labels show macros (protein, carbs, and fats), with carb counts representing total carbs, not net carbs. Most meals have minimal sodium (300-500mg), which is uncommon for prepared meals and a major benefit for those watching their sodium intake.

How do I heat Eat Clean meals?

Microwave: Most meals take approximately 3 minutes depending on your microwave. Start with 2 minutes and continue heating in 30-second increments until reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.

Oven: Preheat to 350°F, transfer food to an oven-safe dish covered with foil, heat for 25-35 minutes until reaching 165°F internally, remove foil, let cool for 3-5 minutes, then enjoy.

During our Eat Clean review we found items like nuggets, breaded chicken, and sweet potato tots benefit from oven heating for better texture, while stews and bowl-style meals work perfectly in the microwave.

Can I skip weeks or cancel my subscription?

Yes, Eat Clean operates on a flexible subscription model that allows you to pause, skip weeks, or cancel at any time through your online account. You’re billed for your first order at signup, and subsequent orders are billed on Wednesdays by 9am EST.
